Emergency Readiness and Disaster Preparedness

Get Involved, Get Prepared, and Get Together.

Eating Fresh: Subway to provide 350,000 Sandwiches a day during Catastrophic Disaster.

Recently, this special partnership brokered by Colleen Beatty, founder of VM Group and Red Cross Volunteer between Subway Restaurants and the American Red Cross Los Angeles Chapter has spread across the State of California and is spreading rapidly throughout the Northwest. Subway Restaurants, through Oh Cal Foods, Inc (Woodland Hills) has encouraged their regional counter-parts to take part in a leveraged sales contract and lead the effort throughout the State. “This is the only way that we can protect and prepare for a disaster is to get larger resource companies like Subway Restaurants and their suppliers involved in strategic disaster planning, and to invite those businesses to the table. The issue of emergency preparedness for communities can no longer fall to our local government officials who lack tax-payer funding and staff coordination to implement effectively. The business community is a great asset and should be included at all levels of response”.
