Business to Business and Economic Development Background:

For five years, prior to launching Vision Marketing Group, Colleen was the Vice President, Director of Marketing for the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (501C3). At the LAEDC, Colleen worked closely to support marketing-related activities for the organization whose mission was to promote job growth and business attraction in the region. Colleen and her talented staff worked together to create strategic marketing campaigns that introduced new corporate and media partnerships to community groups, educational institutions and industry trade associations that served all 88 cities in the County of Los Angeles. Other projects included the LA by Design Regional Initiative, publishing of the area's Business Resource Guide, EDDY Annual Fundraiser Awards and the World Trade Center/LB activities.

International Trade and Industry Relations. Working with local consulates' offices, Colleen managed events hosting int'l trade delegations; provided cultural and business community outreach and participation. Working alongside the major trading hubs, Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and Los Angeles World Airports (LAX), Colleen co-produced educational workshops, traveled internationally to promote business attraction efforts and capital investment to the region.

  • Governmental and Educational Relations. Held chairman and co-chair positions on numerous working committees to solve mutual issues and identify resources; responsible for edc spokesperson roles. Worked with multiple local, regional, state and federal agencies, business community, tourism and trade facilities and utilities.

Wendy Matthes, Consultant

Wendy Matthes is an experienced Marketing Executive whose career has included working with the most prestigious companies in the fields of entertainment and sports marketing. Her experience ranges from working for entertainment leaders Disney, NBC and Universal Studios to the sports world and involvement with World Cup 94, Major League Soccer and the Rose Bowl Game.

For the past decade, Matthes has been the Director of Marketing for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, providing her expertise in the areas of sponsorship and marketing for the Rose Parade, Rose Bowl Game and BCS National Championship Game. She has secured many marketing alliances with such notable corporations as American Airlines, Honda, Nike, Sprint and Wells Fargo.

Matthes is a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a degree in Business Administration/Marketing. She currently lives in Glendale, CA.

John J. Matthes, Consultant

John Matthes has over 25 years of experience in marketing and survey research. He has been involved in managing research and development projects for broadcast and cable television as well as software and online development, home entertainment and international theatrical movie tracking. He has directed the research efforts for the NBC Television Network, Paramount Pictures Television, Disney Interactive and MTV.

He has been responsible for the design, execution, and analysis and reporting of hundreds of research studies involving branding, product and program development, promotion, audience segmentation, ad sales, and customer satisfaction. Most recently, he directed the marketing strategy for an industry leader in the home entertainment field. His unique packaging concept was featured on the “Today” show. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Administration.

April Sadowski, Graphic and Web Designer

April SadowskiApril Sadowski is a full-time graphic and web designer and an alumni of The School of Advertising Art. She is a member of AAF-Dayton and Dayton Creative Syndicate and has won three bronze ADDY Awards for excellence in Web and Logo Design and an Emmy nomination from the Ohio Valley chapter of NATAS.

With over eight years of experience working in both in-house and design firm capacities, April is easily able to work solo or within a team environment. She strives for design that is not generic and cookie-cutter while establishing proven results. She runs her own freelance business called Aibrean's Studio.

Besides design, April is also a writer, voice actor, and producer in her free time. She has written five novels: Lady From Day, The Great Marriage of Lunamae, The Cycle, Underland, and Moments in Time. She is a webmaster and producer at Misfits Audio (Snape's Diaries, Tom Riddle's Diary, Sally vs the Alligator, and Nutcracker Mania) and creator of www.nother.us. Her voice acting (recorded using Adobe Audition with a Shure KSM27 mic) is extensive with various roles in on-going productions at TWERP, Darker Projects, Imagination Lane, Misfits Audio, and BrokenSea Audio Productions.

She lives with her husband and three cats (who frequent her office often).
